Two people were wounded in northern Chechnya in an attack by unidentified assailants on the home of a senior parliament member, a local police source said Tuesday. "On Monday at about 11 p.m. Moscow time (7 p.m. GMT), a group of unidentified assailants opened fire on the home of the chairman of the Republic Council [upper chamber] of the Chechen parliament in the Shelkovsky district [of Chechnya]," the police source said. "As a result, his son and nephew were wounded and hospitalized." Vakhid Mantsayev was not at home at the time of the attack, police said. Police are investigating the incident and searching for the attackers.
