Russian Culture Minister Alexander Sokolov flew to Denmark on Friday to attend the ceremony of the reburial of Tsarina Maria Fyodorovna. A delegation of figures of culture and members of the St. Petersburg city government accompanies him. The ceremony will begin on Saturday, September 23, with a memorial service at the Roskilde Cathedral, at which Danish Queen Margrethe II and members of the royal family, members of the Romanov family and representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church will be present. After the service, the hearse will go to Copenhagen and board a Danish military ship that will arrive in Kronstadt on September 26. The coffin will be taken to the St. Alexander Nevsky Church in Peterhof that will be open on Saturday for all coming to pay last respects to Maria Fyodorovna, born Princess Dagmar, the wife of Tsar Alexander III and the mother of last Russian Tsar Nicholas II. Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia will officiate the funeral service in the St. Peter and Paul Cathedral on Thursday, September 28.
