Russian Foreign Minister said in the Polish capital on Thursday that Moscow “does not rule out that additional influence may be exerted on Iran”
Russian Foreign Minister said in the Polish capital on Thursday that Moscow “does not rule out that additional influence may be exerted on Iran.” “We shall see what kind of diplomatic measures can be applied here,” said the minister. “Sanctions are extreme measures,” Lavrov stressed. “It is necessary to launch negotiations in order to observe the non-proliferation regime,” he pointed out. “The Russian side will not be able to support other more hidden and wide-reaching intentions,” the foreign minister said. Lavrov stressed that the Russian side “is concerned over the fact that Iran has not provided a positive answer” (on its nuclear programme). Lavrov will take part in a ministerial meeting of the group of ‘six’ mediators on the Iranian nuclear programme in London on Friday, October 6. “We still are in favour of collective actions,” said the Russian foreign minister. “Let’s see what other possibilities exist for the settlement of this issue,” he noted.
