Nine Russian cities and villages established communication with President Vladimir Putin during his live-broadcast TV and radio interview on Wednesday
Nine Russian cities and villages, as well as Sevastopol, Crimea, established communication with President Vladimir Putin during his live-broadcast TV and radio interview on Wednesday. Mobile TV stations enabling people to put questions directly to the President were installed in the streets of populated localities in the Irkutsk, Bryansk, Orenburg and Tver Regions, as well as in Kondopoga, Karelia. Some regions were really lucky. In Tatarstan, for instance, mobile TV stations were installed for the second time since the beginning of direct-line interview given by the President. Kaliningrad, the westernmost region of Russia, was chosen for the third time. The longest TV link-up connected the Kremlin with the port of Nakhodka, Primorsky Territory. The southernmost point was the city of Kaspiisk, Dagestan. Sevastopol was the only city outside the Russian territory, with which communication was established during the interview. The names of populated localities, from which people will be able to put questions to the President, are usually kept secret. Last year mobile TV stations were installed in Grozny, Volgograd, Engels (Saratov Region), Izhevsk and the village of Golovchino (Belgorod Region). Gelendzhik, Krasnodar Territory, was the southernmost point. Vorkuta was the northernmost point, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk – the easternmost city, and Riga – the westernmost city, with which communication was established during the interview of the President.
