The Church is ready to continue intensive interaction with the state and with society for the sake of peace and accord in the present-day Russia, Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia said on Wednesday at the public hearings ”Social Partnership and Unity of Society” in the framework of Orthodox Russia forum at Expocentre in Moscow. “I do believe a worthy future is in store for Russia if we help one another,” Alexy II said. He called attention to the problems of children left without parental care, as well as those of the aged, lone persons, the poor and the large families. “The authorities, the Church and businesses should cooperate to help the needy,” Alexy II said. The Russian president’s plenipotentiary representative in the Central Federal District Georgy Poltavchenko went along with the patriarch. He called on the businesses and society actively to participate in the implementation of national projects, which “are aimed at improving the quality of people’s life.”
