Russian President Vladimir Putin is satisfied that the tasks, which had been set during his previous visit in Vietnam in 2001, are being fulfilled
Russian President Vladimir Putin is satisfied that the tasks, which had been set during his previous visit in Vietnam in 2001, are being fulfilled. During a press conference after the talks the Russian president outlined new issues for cooperation with Vietnam. “Putin visited Vietnam for the first time in 2001, and we set the task to expand trade and economic ties, broaden them,” he recalled. “We can say with full confidence that this task is being fulfilled,” the Russian president emphasized. “The volume of trade and economic cooperation increased not by some percent, but manifold, thrice to say it accurately,” he pointed out. According to Putin, “This explains the interest of financial structures, banks to operate on the Vietnamese market.” “First of all the today’s meeting was devoted to further development of trade and economic ties,” Putin remarked. “Our task is to diversify relations,” he indicated. According to Putin, it is possible to attain this “primarily by means of science-intensive produce, machine-building industry, communication services, space activities and, certainly, investments.” “Possibilities of Russian economy and some Russian companies are considerable now,” Putin pledged. He hopes that “all this will be used in cooperation with our traditional friends and partners in Vietnam.”
