Sergei Kiriyenko has said that Russia’s stance on the creation of a uranium enrichment facility for Iran on Russian soil remains in force
Head of the Russian Federal Atomic Energy Agency (Rosatom) Sergei Kiriyenko has said that Russia’s stance on the creation of a uranium enrichment facility for Iran on Russian soil remains in force. “Russia’s attitude has not changed, I’m not the talks’ participant and we see no technical problems whatsoever. Iran has the right to peaceful uses of atomic power and the international community has the right to demand the observance of the non-proliferation regime. It is difficult to guarantee this, because all technologies have dual purpose. If Iran is interested in Russia’s proposal, if it complies with the IAEA rules, it remains in force,” Kiriyenko told journalists. “It is our contribution to the preservation of the non-proliferation regime, Russia has no special need to create another enterprise in its territory,” the Rosatom head added.
